While I was in Sydney I went back to Homebush for the first time since I was there with the kids for the Olympic Games in 2000. It was great to relive some of the memories of a fantastic trip. You may remember the opening ceremony when the Olympic torch rose up through a cascading waterfall within the stadium to it's place of honour atop Stadium Australia, and that awful moment when it appeared to get stuck before finally moving as a whole nation exhaled a huge sigh of relief. It has been turned into a permanent fountain in a park next to the stadium.
